| 4. | Description | Abstract | The scorpion venom is a potential therapeutic biological source against a variety of diseases. Scorpion venom contained low molecular weight peptides, salts, different enzymes and neurotoxins. These peptides have immunosuppressive, cytotoxic, apoptogenic and anti-proliferative effects. These activities make scorpion venom a novel therapeutic agent against a variety of cancers like human lung adenocarcinomas, prostate cancer, melanoma, breast cancer, brain tumors, gliomas, leukemia, skin cancer, cervical cancer, esophageal cancer and colon cancer. This review focuses on scorpion venom and its applications for various types of cancers. |
