Dr. Houbing Song

Since August 2012, Houbing Song has been an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at West Virginia University Institute of Technology and the founding director of both West Virginia Center of Excellence for Cyber-Physical Systems (WVCECPS) and Security and Optimization for Networked Globe Laboratory (SONG Lab). He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of Virginia in 2012. His research interests are focused on optical communications, wireless communications and networking, vehicular networking, smart grid communications, and cyber-physical systems. He worked with Shandong Academy of Sciences as an assistant research scientist from 2004 to 2005 and with Texas Transportation Institute (TTI), Texas A&M University system as an engineering research associate in 2007. He has been the founding Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Cyber-Physical Systems published by Research Publisher Inc. (USA) since 2012 and the Associate Editor-in-Chief of blue book series on Internet of Things published by Social Sciences Academic Press (China) since 2011. He has served on the technical program committee for numerous IEEE conferences and was the general chair of and was the general chair of the 1st IEEE ICCC International Workshop on Internet of Things (IOT 2013). He has published more than 30 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
