Education for Consumption: Thematic Evolution Analysis Using Scientific Mapping
Abstract
The purpose of this article was to analyze the course of consumer education research, identifying the most developed and relevant topics related to the subject under study. To achieve this, we used exploratory, descriptive, bibliometric research with a quantitative approach. The data was collected from the Web of Science database, and SciMAT software was used for scientific mapping analysis based on co-words, in three periods: 2014-2017, 2018-2020, 2021-2023. Overall, this study presents the main trends on sub-themes related to consumer education: behavior, consumer education, consumer, innovation, and product. Not only does it point out the different facets associated with the construct, but it also provides a theoretical basis for further research, especially with regard to expanding the field of knowledge on the subject in question.
